Making a change, no matter how big or small is never easy.

It’s challenging to deal with not having the support of your family, only having a little time in your day to work on your dreams, and not knowing what should be a priority first.

But worse, are the negative thoughts and doubts that begin creeping in. And if you’ve ever heard yourself saying maybe I should just give up. We’ve been there too. It’s ok. That’s totally normal.

Nothing happens overnight and I know how frustrating it is to see Facebook ads of other entrepreneurs making it look easy drinking champagne in Italy and working their laptop lifestyle on the beach! The second-guessing yourself and feeling like a fraud where you compare yourself constantly to others ahead of you. Even if you feel like you are behind and getting nowhere, it’s ok. I totally get it.

At the start of our journey, even close family was not in support of my husband and I both taking the leap and quitting our jobs within 3 months of each other with a 6-month-old. But sometimes you just have to do what is best for you in this life because only you know what is the right path for you to take to be the woman you know you can be and the woman you want to become. We’ve got one life to live and time goes by so crazy fast. There’s no time to waste. We absolutely have to make each and every day count.

My Story

I haven’t always had a profitable business and blog. I know what it’s like to worry about making ends meet and providing for your family while still pursuing your dreams.

When I started my blog and business in 2010, I was a corporate consultant working a stressful, miserable job that gave me little time to focus on my own goals and dreams. Making a change seemed like an impossible dream.

So I get it.

And despite reading a million articles online, making a change required more income so that I could quit my draining day job.

I was so miserable and stressed that I would come home from work crying. I never had fun because all I could think about was going back to a job I dreaded on Monday. I had no time for friends or social life. There is nothing good about the Sunday night blues…

BUT, EVERYTHING CHANGED…

I developed a system that helped me grow a successful blog with over 3 million readers – and a profitable business that actually worked – so I could say goodbye to my dead-end job after maternity leave and never look back.

Now, seven years after my very first blog post, I have created a community of millions of women who read our career content each week and run a Forbes Top 35 Most Influential Career Site. More importantly, I am living my purpose and I turned my passion into a profitable business and global brand that impacts the world.

And, I have plenty of time and freedom to hang out with my family and have dance parties in the living room at 2 pm in the afternoon.
