Planning Your Day To Achieve Your Top Priorities in Life
On this podcast episode, I share how I plan my day.
As a mom of 3 daughters, these time management habits help me stay focused on my goals. Say “goodbye” to stress and “hello” to more joy in your work and life after implementing 1-2 of these habits in your weekly routine.
What is the #1 habit of highly effective women? THEY PLAN THEIR DAY THE NIGHT BEFORE.
Listen on:
Before you go to bed, do you know what your top priorities are for the next day? You don’t want to be stressed in the morning and you want to be able to have a plan. Before you go to bed, know what your priorities are and this will greatly reduce any overwhelm you have.
In this episode:
- A BIG personal update! We are moving and homeschooling over the next year. I can’t wait to share all the details with you today!
- How I plan out my calendar and schedule each day to make sure I get my top priorities in life done
- How I make sure I hit my goals and make time for my passions and my family
- How to change your life with simple time management habits
Tips from this podcast episode:
- I put the schedule for each day on the whiteboard for the kids to see. Communication is key so you and everyone around you knows what to expect.
- Becoming a new homeschool mom is actually making me more effective at habits and routines. It’s forcing me to get better because I have less time to waste and my kids are my ultimate why. I never imagined I would be a homeschool mom but I truly know that it’s my calling right now and I will make time for it because it’s important.
- So when do you plan your day ahead of time? I do this right after dinner. Clean up and write it down.
- Every Sunday I do a weekly review so I have a general idea of what is going to happen during the week.
- Have some big goals this year? When you create your 90 days plan, break down your goals into tasks and block out time for each goal in your calendar. This will help you plan ahead of your days and know what to do to reach your goals.
- Lately I have been using a habit tracker and I can see the habits I am not getting done. Those need to be scheduled into the day. For example, 10K steps. Journaling. Drinking water. If it doesn’t get done by habit, that means I need to schedule it into the day and set an alarm to remind me.
- Book suggestion: The 5am Club by Robin Sharma. I do the 20 minute breakouts in the morning. 20 minutes for learning. 20 minutes for reflecting and 20 minutes for exercising.
